achieve their goals for 13-years as a Fitness Coach and created Island Pacific Fitness in 2000. I have successfully trained men and women putting the "Personal" back into personal training. I spend the necessary time to explain how to live a fitness lifestyle and overcome the battle of trying to follow an effective nutrition program. I served 20-years in law enforcement before having to retire on disability. I suffered back and neck injuries and have had multiple surgeries with multiple fusions, rods, pins and plates in my spine and neck. I have lived with chronic pain for 15-years and it is exercise that helps keep the muscles surrounding the injured areas strong which in turn, reduces pain and discomfort. Injuries Fitness Therapy and Adaptive Fitness are my specialties and I can help you get back into the best shape you can within your own limitations and learn how to work around your injuries. I fully understand the pain, struggles and discouragement, of suffering from injuries. I have learned how to work around my own limitations as part of my ongoing rehabilitation program and therefore, I can effectively help you with your fitness challenges.
a passion for helping adults over 40 live a fitness lifestyle. At age 52 I understand the transition our bodies go through during the middle years and can help you rise above your own challenges. Because I know how my own body feels with the aches and pain that come with aging in the joints, as well as the decline in growth hormones, I can relate with other older adults. I know that clients want to work with a trainer they think will understand their concerns, physical challenges and their hesitation to want to begin a training program. Older adults are more inclined to want to hire a personal trainer who is in their age group. A young trainer in his/her 20's and even 30's, has no idea what it is like to walk in the footsteps of adults in their mid 40's and especially once you're over 50! Those of us who are the Baby Boomer era have passed the peak of our youth and can no longer exercise the way we once did. Even for myself, I cannot train hard as I once did for competition. Multiple surgeries and my age now dictate a different approach to training to achieve the best results I can at this stage in life. And that is what I bring to our community as a personal trainer. Whatever your training goals are, I will coach and guide you to reach them whether you want to train for a marathon, triathlon, bodybuilding contest, rehabilitate from injury or permanent disability, or if you are younger and just need to get into healthy shape. I have a fully equipped home studio decorated like a tiki hut, to give you private and personal one-on-one training.
lead several Zumba Fitness classes each week there and at other locations.
excuses about why you can't begin an exercise program. If you have let 2010 pass you by just "talking" about changing your lifestyle and getting fit, why not make 2011 the year you transform your life, before it too, passes you by! You can do it and I can teach you how! Don't let the another year pass you by, your clothes get tight and then wonder why! Take responsibility for your health and fitness today! When you begin to see the results of your efforts, you will never look back! |
