Training Philosophy
Training Philosophy

I became a Certified Fitness Trainer because of my passion for helping men
and women feel better about themselves in both the way they look on the
outside and how they feel on the inside.

When you come to me to be your personal fitness/lifestyle coach, it is just that:
Personal.  My goals for you are:

  • To get you started on your new fitness lifestyle in a non-threatening, non-
intimidating, relaxed and comfortable environment.  If you are unhappy
with your physical condition for whatever reason, you most likely would
feel uncomfortable stepping foot into a commercial health club amongst
other men and women in better condition than you.  But in six months from
today, one year from today, you are going to be a new person, confident
in your appearance and exercise abilities and then you will be ready to
join a health club (or actually to the club you have been a member of),
meet new friends to exercise with and start your new fitness lifestyle!

  • To get you to the point where you can continue on your own and remain in
a fitness lifestyle the rest of your life.  Then you can choose to enroll in
advanced training sessions for sport-specific conditioning, or just for new
training techniques when you hit a plateau.

  • To provide you with a positive enriched experience so that when I check
back with you in a year after you accomplish your goals, you will be
another one of my success stories.

  • To train you "slowly" so your body can adapt to the exercise program
without over-training and causing soreness from too much, too soon.  Your
body will thank you for starting off gentle and giving it time to adjust.  Most
people give up on their New Year's resolution and quit within the first
4-weeks, because they push too hard, hurt too much and have the
unrealistic expectation of becoming fit in just 30-days!
